Your First Visit

Patient Forms

When you arrive at our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family.  At this time, we will ask you to complete our patient forms to provide us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

During your initial consultation with Dr. Judith Allan, you will be able to discuss any of your health-related problems or concerns, as well your treatment options. As she learns more about you, your condition, and your expectations, Dr. Allan will determine how chiropractic care can help you meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Allan will perform a complete chiropractic examination, including testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests are usually done at this point, but nothing without your consent.

Report of Findings

Once information is collected and examinations performed, the doctor will give you a detailed report of the findings and answer any questions. Frequently-asked questions include:

  1. How can you help me?
  2. How often do I need to come in?
  3. What will my treatment  cost?

On reviewing your health history and your own goals and after examining your spine, Dr. Judith Allan will give you her recommendations for treatment. She will also let you know if  your condition requires the care of any other providers.

Treatment

At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to have your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage.  Treatment is interactive, so you can express your concerns about the different styles of treatment at anytime.

Wellness Program

Finally, the doctor will suggest a wellness program for you to incorporate into your life in addition to treatment. Each person is unique; therefore, each requires a  customized wellness plan. If you are in pain, your plan may include any or all of these measures:

  • Ice or heat application instructions
  • Certain activities or positions to avoid
  • Home exercises and/or stretches

Our wellness team can also work with you to create healthy habits and routines that fit your lifestyle. The purpose of our wellness program is to help you achieve good spinal alignment, have a  healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
